the first wedding of the year is over! the day came, the day went, and i've come to learn that even though things might not go perfect and exactly as you want, the day still comes, the day still goes and so long as you get the key things done, the finer details just don't matter as much. i had a great time tonight celebrating with duncan and jenne. tiff and i held up the receptionist table and took care of the guest book. we had fun with polaroid cameras - such ancient technology - it was fun to relearn how to use such old things and then remember how fun they could be - instant gratification as tiffy said. the cameras kept us busy throughout the ceremony and also during the reception. i think we have multiple shots of ourselves though - ask to see the pictures :) i don't want to post them - and tiff, you keep that x-rated pic to yourself... got it??
there's a bit of mixed emotions seeing a childhood friend of mine grow up and get married. first off - she's found the man of her dreams - her soul mate and partner in life - and finding love as pure as theirs is truly a blessing that both deserve - they are both such amazing people! then, she married an american so this means she could be gone from home (canada) for good! this makes me realize that the first of my group of childhood friends has left the safe and familiar 'nest' of toronto - perhaps indefinitely. and then i realize that i may have also done the same - yikes :P anyhow, no matter what my emotions may be, i'm happy for the both of them! and now i have a fellow canadian to visit in america :D congrats to both on their wedding day!
i'm now getting ready to snap back to reality. after a quick 5 hour flight, i'll be back in seattle...
