It's not always about me...

i am going through this period in my life where it seems i am constantly being reminded or maybe i am just more aware that it is not always about me. i have always thought of myself as relatively self-less - perhaps comes with being a middle child...? but that could just be my own self-perception. am i perceived as self-centered by those around me? maybe i am, in which case, i am living in my own world of self-perception - where the world in which i live and see and observe is not, in fact, reality. the world as i see it is all wrong! the idea that that might be the case is truly frightening and motivates me to ask, am i seeing things properly? and if i'm not, how can i change my perception - what do i need to do to see things as they truly are? or maybe i am doing ok and the world in which i do see is not too far off from reality. i just added another book on my list of books i am reading :

leadership and self-deception - the arbinger institute

it's given me a different perspective about how to treat people (as people! not objects) and how that will in return help to establish you as a leader. pretty good read so far.

if you're keen on reading on more leadership books, Courageous Leadership by Bill Hybel is actually pretty good.
