europe bound

i've been helping (a bit) to plan my family's trip to europe happening late september. i've had to talk to my dad about what he wants to do there and where he wants to go. this is my conversation with him on the phone...

Dad: "ok, so we land in london, then next day we take train to parry"
Amy: "you mean Paris?"
Dad: "yeah then we stay fee nights in parry and we see loo and effy tower, and notting dam, and arc. then we eat one dinner in mowing row"
Amy: "what? wait a minute. so stay three nights in paris. you want to see louvre? the museum right?"
Dad: "yeah we see loo take one day maybe"
Amy: "ok. and then the effiel tower and notre dame? and the arc du triomphe?"
Dad: "yeah then have dinner at mowing row"
Amy: "what is mowing row?"
Dad: "you know the cancan girls? dancing?"
Amy: "oh you mean the moulin rouge. ok ok."
Dad: "yeah then we take plane to roo for four nights and then take train to venus. then we take plane back to london. ok?"
Amy: "what do you mean roo?"
Dad: "in italy. where the collosus is"
Amy: "oh you mean Rome where the coliseum is. ok ok"
Dad: "then venus and then back to london. you get it?"
Amy: "Rome to Venice and then to London. Ok Got it."

i am falling off my chair from cracking up so hard!!!!!! this brings to mind the time your sis and i compiled a chinglish dictionary and my dad found out and said, "shame on you!"

in reality, i had a much harder time understanding where it was he wanted to go. but yes, it is shameful to make fun of my dad like that. heee. :D

clearly it must have been a bad connection on the phone... clearly...

maybe it was because you couldn't see his lips so that you could infer more meaning from his utterances?
