reinforcement

i wasn't planning on getting so much done today but WOW, the progress was amazing. i woke up this morning fairly early for a saturday becuase comcast was scheduled to come and set up cable and internet. they came at 9am and getting that all set up alone on a saturday was already fairly productive. i started mixing a batch of sugar cookies from a recipe i have been wanting to try all week. while i was just finishing that up, hmma called and he sounded like he wanted to get out of the house - so we went to ikea to buy three pieces of furniture that i had in mind to buy sometime this weekend. only three. that is all. ikea is a place you could go and spend hours in and you can end up spending much more than you wanted just by walking through their warehouse and picking up items here and there along the way to the checkout. so i put my cookie batch in the fridge to be chilled and we arrived at ikea around noonish. i got my three items (futon, sideboard and shelf) and had them on a truck for delivery by 1pm. when i arrived back at my condo, i baked the cookies and while they were baking in the oven, the delivery man at ikea said he would be arriving between 2 and 4pm. he showed up at 3:45pm. by this time, a handful of gals from my women's cell showed up to help me with odd-ball items in my condo. the furniture arrived shortly after and i put the girls and hmma to work putting everything together. it was amazing how much can get done when you have 5 extra pairs of hands!! hmma took off all the recessed lighting in my kitchen so i've gained about a foot of ceiling in my kitchen. we put together all three pieces of furniture and took out all the trash to the dumpster. and we also had time to eat dinner. as we were winding all that down, it was approaching 7pm - we all had plans to attend christmas candlelight service at Overlake Christian Church. so we finished up and headed out to service.

i like to make lists of all i have accomplished in the day to see how productive i was. so in summary, here's what i got done today:
- internet and cable
- shop at ikea and buy furniture
- furniture delivered and set up
- storage closet cleaned up and items put into storage
- kitchen recessed ceiling taken apart and disposed of
- baked cookies
- attend christmas candlelight service.

i am so thankful for all the help i got today. i wouldn't have been able to get all this done without all the help i had today! hmma and the girls are the best!
