The engagement period has been an interesting journey --
Stage 1: JOY!
"of course i want to get married! YES OF COURSE to you!"
Stage 2: Starting to plan the wedding day
Let's do THIS for our wedding! How about this idea? What do you think of these colours? YUM! This cake is so GOOD!
Stage 3: Deep into planning
Gee, my idea of our wedding day is starting to look pretty different from your idea of our wedding day. You like that colour? You like that music? Are you sure about that floral bouquet? Hmm... ok....
Stage 4: Who are you?
Who are you and what have you done with my fiance?? Are we really doing the right thing here? Do i really want to be married ... to you?
Stage 5: Where is God in all of this?
Oh yeah, we forgot to invite God into our planning. Repentance occurs. Selfishness is laid out and given up.
Stage 6: Leaving room for God to show up
Refocus on what really matters. Our wedding doesn't need to be a perfect production show for our guests. We have been diligent to prepare and plan but no doubt, we've left room for God to show up and do something memorable on our wedding day.
Stage 7: JOY!
There you are again, dear fiance! Are you ready?
I'm READY!
