a student again

here i am sitting in a computer lab full of strangers. i'm a c++ student at UW taking a certificate program that will help to refresh my programming skills and if i'm lucky, might even teach me a few new things (or a LOT of new things). i find myself in a lab full of the usual - those who are computer geeks (why are you guys even here...??) and those are making an effort to remember or figure out what all this stuff means again (people like me...). so then i ask myself, why did i sign up for this course.. what did i get myself into??
