Tire Chains

This morning I woke up early in order to catch a bus to the only store in the surrounding area that still had tire chains that fit my tires in stock. We caught the bus at the transit center about 4 blocks from my home at around 10:30am. The bus was late. The bus we happened to catch went from Redmond to Bellevue then from Bellevue to Kirkland. It took us nearly 2 hours to get to Kirkland!! holy cow. usually this trip would only take us 15 minutes by car. luckily the store still had tire chains left so we purchased one set for my car and one set for hmma's car. Then we started back. We took a different bus route this time - one that required us to transfer halfway. but this worked out since it was around 1:00pm and we needed lunch and the transfer point was conveniently right outside McDonald's. We caught the second bus back to Redmond - the return trip took just over 40 minutes. urgh. we walked up the hill to my condo and rescued my car out of the lot!!! What a feeling of success!! AND FREEDOM! We tried to get my car up Hmma's hill but no such luck. Instead, we took the car to pick up a package that was supposed to be delivered today but due to extreme weather conditions, FedEx was unable to deliver. it is a photobook that my sister put together for my grandma as a gift. a lot of hard work went into the book so i'm glad that i was able to pick it up and hope i will be able to bring it back in time to give to her for christmas. it took us about 40 minutes to drive to Issaquah to pick up the package. We then realized that the tire chains we had put on my car were actually meant for Hmma's car (they were a size larger) so since we had already used them, we went back ot my condo, parked my car back in my assigned spot and rescued Hmma's car out of the lot. NICE! I was even able to go to work to tie up loose ends. being at work also allowed us to web check-in for our flights early tomorrow morning. i'm now packed and ready to fly - weather permitting.

what a productive day. phew!
