last night, as i was working late, i decided to catch up on some missed episodes of Grey's Anatomy (whoever invented dual monitors is a genius). ok candeo, i realize it's all overly dramatized and nothing like it happens in a real hospital but still, i watch :D. so in the episode i was watching, izzy finds out that her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption years ago, has cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. izzy, being the biological mother, is asked to be a donor. during the episode, they show izzy getting her bone marrow extracted (i assume) and of course, it's painful. it's really painful. now, this bothers me because i remember that my brother went through this procedure himself. i remember it was painful because i had accidentally patted his lower back after the procedure which made him cry out in pain - the tears were really heartbreaking. i didn't know until now, how much he had to endure during his years of treatment. i feel watching this procedure (even if it was on Grey's Anatomy and maybe it was overdramatized ) was perhaps just a glimpse of what he had to endure.
i'm participating in Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life this year back in Toronto (woohoo!) - please help support the fight against cancer:

xixheee! NO NEED to explain yourself to me!! =)
Hey--I get sucked into TV of questionable quality myself-- sometimes just because it's so bad it's actually amusing...like...Saved by the Bell for example...But I have to say that after Addison said, "Don't hurt her," to McDreamy (the "her" being Dr. Gray) I couldn't bring myself to watch the show anymore.
besides...what's really important is remembering your brother and getting on with the fight against cancer! all the best with the $$$ raising!
um. that "xixheee!" is a result of me filling in that word verification thing to leave a comment.
that's all.
