Got Pampered

for vday this year, i was given a generous and thoughtful gift from my significant other - a gift certificate at gene juarez for their get pampered package : a massage, a facial, manicure and pedicure. since my significant other is out of town this week visiting his family, i took the opportunity to (finally) make use of this gift. i went in this morning to the downtown bellevue location and lemme tell you, the spa was enormous and completely luxurious. four hours later (yes... four hours), i am fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

so, today was my first time getting a manicure and pedicure. they also gave me a foot bath to begin with. having someone else rub and dry my feet was a really odd feeling. it reminded me of how Jesus washed the disciple's feet and it made me feel really uncomfortable. i had an urge to pull my foot away and say "i'll dry my own feet, thanks" but i thought somehow that might be rude. the other thing i noticed was that the assistants there would bend down and hold my slippers for me as i slid off the massage bed and then they would help me into my slippers. so these things made me feel like i was being pampered - which, i guess, was the whole purpose of the package. but then, maybe i don't like the feeling of being pampered....???

regardless, i had an amazing time and feel very blessed to be able to experience such pampering. :D
