Summer came this weekend!

Recording highs this weekend. Saturday was insanely hot. It reminded me of a summer day in Toronto smack in the middle of July. Sunday was a bit cooler which was very welcoming. Everyone was out enjoying the sun after 9 months of wondering if it would ever come back and thinking it might not come back after this weekend was over.

Saturday was spent at Pike Market Place at the Cheese Festival. I prefer my cheese cold though so the high temperatures didn't make it particularly appealing. We bumped into a couple of friends who were on their way to the aquarium so we tagged along. my favourite are the otters. they are soooo cute! Afterwards, an hour of tennis before going to a friend's home for dinner. it was so hot that after dinner, we turned off all the lights except one small lamp in the living room and sat in front of the fan trying to get a bit of breeze.

Sunday, four of us went to church together and then had lunch on the patio of a restaurant. Afterwards, we all washed our cars. the golden nugget was definitely due for a wash. there's still sap on the car that i can't get off - curses to the northwest trees!! but at least now my car isn't carrying around a thin coat of pollen from the trees - my allergies thank me.

I'm heading out to Toronto on Thurdsay night. It has been many months since I have flown home. I'm anticipating the trip to see family and friends and to attend a friend's wedding!! if you are free, let me know when you can meet up!
