i joined a spring season softball team with a bunch of friends this year. it was our first year joining this league but we thought we'd give it a go. we played most sunday afternoons and each sunday was a double header played against the same team. basically you get two chances to play the other team - for us, this means we get creamed twice, or we get a second chance to start again and make a comeback. the past couple of weeks we've been playing very poorly on our first game (with scores like 25-1, 20-3, etc) but then we put on a tough game for the second time around. This weekend we were beaten 25-1 during the first game but then we came back and won the second game 11-8!! I have noticed that this is a similar trend in all the teams i have joined this year. We always win our last game of the season. (Recall the soccer season...)
Maybe next year we can aim for two wins in the season...
